* VIP guests are welcome to stay the whole evening
Come and celebrate the kick-off the Pittsburgh Wine Festival’s 12th year, this coming Thursday, May 8,th 2014, at Heinz Field. The East & West Club Lounges become a wine drinker’s personal clubhouse, where sampling the best wine the world has to offer is the order of the day.
There is only one place in the region that both rookie and veteran wine tasters can come together, trade notes, insights and opinions. Heinz Field is the place. Once there, you will have access to 165 vendors and over 500 different wines of every varietal and terroir, so be ready to expand your palate and enhance your knowledge.
Are you an experienced enologist with an impressive cellar? The VIP Tasting is the ticket for you. Special reserve wines are poured during the VIP Tasting from 5-7 PM that are unavailable during the Grand Tasting. Also, the limited number of people with access to the VIP Tasting allow for reflection and conversation with the winery representative at each table.
Just getting into the game? No problem, the Grand Tasting (7-9 PM) is the perfect way to start. Had good luck with Italian wines? Sample from a list of dozens to find your perfect match. Love the oakiness of the California Chardonnay? Spend your time in the domestic wine area to discover the best.
For your convenience, we’ve split the sampling into two distinct areas, offering one entire club lounge for international wines and another club lounge for domestic wines. Veteran or rookie, you are going to want to download and research our wine guide to plan your attack. It’s helpful to prioritize your sampling to maximize the experience. The 2014 Pittsburgh Wine Festival Wine Guide will be available here, starting about a month prior to the event [ PDF Download here ]. Please check back for details.
